Part 2 Of My Story In 1983, I met many people who, like me, are physically and challenged, at a camp in Jacksonville, Illinois by Lake Jacksonville. The camp is called Camp Courage, and every year, I'd spend a week there. I did that for 21 years. In 1999 and 2011, I lost two best friends who were like my brothers, and we were like the heart, soul and spirit of Camp Courage as male campers. Jason, who died in 1999, had muscular dystrophy. He was the true spirit of camp because he had taught the camp, especially me, to never stop giving up on a dream, or something like that. Dean, who died in 2011, had spina bifida. He was also the heart of the camp, and showed campers how to be truly passionate about something that you love most. Then, there is me, being all three of those things, and showing campers how not to quit your dreams. Teaching them to follow your heart, and reaching goals in whatever you want to do in life. My story on reasons for making people understand the Abled Community Hello everyone, my name is Robert, and as many of you know, I am part of Live at Champs on Twitch. I felt the need to express my feelings and tell everyone what my vision is. Most of you know I have Cerebral Palsy, this doesn't mean I have a disability, it means that I AM ABLE to do whatever normal people do! These are my missions and I hope that y'all will help me with them. I would like to reform attendance policies and building access regulations. Reform pay discrimination of people with disabilities and increase the pay/income ceiling for disabled individuals so they can work more without losing benefits. Have Human Resource department training meetings to educate them on how disabled people can contribute. Dispel myths about various types of disabilities. Highlight unique perspectives we offer to their products and services. We need to get the word out our community outreach to educate the public about ...
